Watch Out For the Bogeyman [Start Your Week]

My grandfather passed away when I was six years old, leaving my grandmother to live all alone on their farm. From that time on almost every Sunday after church my family and I went to her house for dinner. She was a wonderful cook.  She had given birth to 8 kids and was a wonderful, 3cook. A few minutes prior to sitting down for our noon meal with my grandma, she yelled from the kitchen, “Rod, go down to the cellar and get some pickles.”

Being an obedient child, I jumped to my feet and headed for the front door. The entrance to the cellar was outside the house, guarded by two heavy wooden doors that lay almost flat on the ground...
